SENIOR PROJECT ARCHITECT

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Architect / Designer to join our team in Stockholm. This individual will contribute meaningfully to the design excellence, technical quality, and collaborative culture that define Studio RAM’s work.

The selected candidate will work closely with the studio’s leadership, project managers, architects, designers, consultants, and clients across all phases of design and delivery.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Design Leadership

  • Provides professional architectural input in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.
  • Works closely with project leadership to support and guide the design and technical development of projects.
  • Contributes to the studio’s design direction through strong conceptual, spatial, technical, and material understanding.
  • Supports quality control of design work, documentation, and project deliverables.

 

Technical Design & Execution

  • Prepares and reviews architectural drawings, construction documents, technical details, and building components.
  • Develops and represents a strong technical viewpoint within project teams.
  • Coordinates design intent with technical requirements, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Reviews, compiles, and prepares project specifications as required.
  • Independently leads or supports the construction administration process, including site coordination, clarifications, and follow-up.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on relevant building systems, construction methods, detailing, and material solutions.

 

Team & Consultant Coordination

  • Liaises with project managers, architects, interior designers, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Supervises, supports, and guides junior team members in both design and technical work.
  • Contributes to external project communication, presentations, and coordination with consultants and clients.
  • Can be relied upon to present design and technical solutions directly to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Helps maintain a positive, focused, and collaborative working environment within the studio.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, Interior Architecture, or another related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience within an architecture or design studio.
  • Strong design, technical, detailing, and documentation skills.
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality design work, technical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Swedish building regulations, planning processes, and construction documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in ArchiCAD, with the ability to independently model, document, coordinate, and deliver architectural projects from concept through construction documentation.
  • Strong digital literacy in common communication and collaboration tools including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent professional level communication skills in Swedish and English.
  • Highly collaborative by nature, with the ability to work closely with colleagues, consultants, clients, and leadership.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and structured approach to project work.
  • A genuine desire to produce meaningful, refined, and enduring design.

 

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working on high-end single-family residential projects.
  • Experience with commercial, hospitality, restaurant, or workplace projects.
  • Experience with architectural competitions
  • Experience with sustainability-focused design, high-performance buildings, or environmental assessment methods.
  • Architectural licensure or equivalent professional registration is appreciated but not required.
